Rain, rain… go away!

The Cream Cheese Chicken Chili turned out really good. Barry and I both enjoyed it, along with the leftover cornbread, which went perfect with the chili. It has just a little bit of a kick. Tonight’s dinner is leftover chili, woohoo!

Once again, it goes perfect with the weather. It’s been rainy all day and I don’t think it’s gotten above 35 degrees. I would much prefer snow when it’s this cold! I really hope it goes away by tomorrow evening before I have to run. They are predicting a high of 52 degrees, but after being off by more than 15 degrees last week, I’m skeptical it’ll get that warm. You’re on, weather man.

We’re currently watching Jeopardy, which is one of my favorite shows. I especially love when it’s kids Jeopardy! I thought it was so weird when I was in St. Louis and it came on at like 3 or 4 in the afternoon. That just wasn’t right.

I forgot to mention, as usual for the past 29 days, I did my 30 Day Shred workout this morning (level 3). Tomorrow is the last day!!! I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself after this, but I do know one thing…. Friday is going to be a complete rest day! My first complete rest day in 34 days or something like that.

Do you have a certain meal you like to eat when it’s cold outside?

Do you watch Jeopardy? What time does it come on where you live?

How often to you take a complete rest day?

  1. Jeopardy is on in the afternoon here; always has been. I used to listen to it on the radio on my way home from work at 3:30 when I lived out of town.

I also love chili when it’s cold outside. I need some now–it’s 22 and crazy windy.

I am all about embracing the rest day. I take several a week! Less now that I’m training for the half, but still at least two.

    1. Chili is definitely a great cold weather food! I also usually take 2 rest days during half marathon training, the day before and the day after my long run.

  2. So glad the chili was good!
Rock on with your bad self for finishing the 30-day shred!!

    1. As of today it’s done!! Yay 🙂

  3. Yum, I love chili! When the weather is cold and yucky I like to make either chili or spicy cheeseburger soup (which is basically like potato chili, ha). I don’t mind the cold so much as the gloomy rain. I would like to see the sun a little bit.

I do not usually watch Jeopardy, but Alex Trebek hosted the inaugural Staff Geo Bee at work last week, which was awesome!! He was hilarious!

I am so impressed that you have done every single day of that! I tried to do 30 day shred for the whole 30 days..I think I made it like 3, ha. Maybe your success will motivate me to try again. I take a complete rest day whenever my body tells me to. Usually I lift and cross train (yoga, swimming, or biking) on my non-running days (Monday and Friday, usually), but sometimes I just take the whole day off, instead.

    1. That spicy cheeseburger soup sounds really good. So cool that Alex Trebek was at your work!!!

    2. Meant to tell you… I challenge you to the 30 day shred! 🙂

    3. gahhhh you didn’t!! I’ll probably have to do it now. I’ll have to ask my sister if I can borrow it. Challenge accepted.

  4. I love making chili or beef stew when we have a snowy day! My parents love Jeopardy so I mostly watch it when I visit them. I like the Kids show because I have a better chance of answering the questions when that’s on! 🙂

    1. Mmm beef stew! My moms makes the best beef stew full of veggies. When I was a kid she’d make a huge batch (we’re talking 3+ crock pots work) and freeze a bunch of it for the winter.

That’s the same reason I like the kid’s tournament the best 🙂 Makes me feel smarter.
