A little homemade motivation

I spent a recent cold, rainy Saturday afternoon creating a few inspirational running posters. I used photos from races and from the trail. Enjoy!

From a snowy trail run at Mountain Lake:

From the Richmond Marathon, circa 2011; Barry headed to the finish:

From the New River State Park Trail:

From the American Family Fitness Half Marathon, Richmond 2012:

From the climb up Mill Mountain during the 2013 Blue Ridge Half Marathon:

From the finish line of the 2013 Charlotte Thunder Road Marathon:

Finally, from the New River State Park Trail:

What are some of your favorite inspirational/motivational quotes?

  1. Great shots and I never knew all those famous authors & poets got their inspiration from running marathons. My favorite is credited to Eleanor Roosevelt but never confirmed, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent”.

    LUD.

  2. LOVE them!!! I especially love the one after your marathon!! What a great quote!

    Two of my favorites are:

“Never rest until your good becomes better and your better becomes best” Coach Herman Boone

“Whether you think you can, or think you can’t – you’re right” Henry Ford

    1. Those are good ones! Now that you quoted Coach Boone I feel the need to go watch Remember the Titans. There may be another long treadmill run in my week because of you πŸ™‚

  3. These are awesome quotes! I love reading them as I am feeling pretty awesome (and a bit lazy) tonight after a hard core workout. Yeah-bring on the motivation!

    1. Me too. It’s funny that as a kid I remember reading (and loving) Frost’s Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening and now it provides motivation to my running. Things have come full circle πŸ™‚
